Safety Notice

Because this is a farm property, the New York Safety in Agricultural Tourism Act requires us to make the following disclosures:

BEFORE STARTING YOUR ON-FARM ACTIVITY, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO READ THE POSTED WARNING TO VISITORS AND VISITOR RESPONSIBLITIES NOTICES TO LEARN ABOUT:

•         The risks inherent to participating in on-farm activities; and

•         Your responsibilities when participating in the activities on this working farm.

THE WARNING TO VISITORS NOTICE IS POSTED BELOW.  This notice identifies the inherent risk(s) of the on-farm activities in which you will be participating – activities that may expose you to the risk of personal injury, death or damage to your property.

THE VISITOR RESPONSIBILITIES NOTICE IS POSTED BELOW.  This notice describes your responsibilities as a visitor on a working farm, which include:  obeying directional and “off limits” signs, following instructions and obeying warnings from farm representatives; complying with posted rules of conduct; and exercising reasonable care concerning disclosed risks.

•         If you do not understand the information contained in the Warning to Visitors or Visitor Responsibilities notices or have any questions about their content, please ask a farm representative for help before you begin your on-farm activity.

•         If you are accompanied by individuals who need help in understanding the inherent risks of participating in the on-farm activities or the responsibilities of a visitor on a working farm, please explain, or ask a farm representative to explain the risks and responsibilities to those people so that they understand them.

IF YOU (OR THOSE YOU ARE WITH) ARE UNPREPARED OR UNWILLING TO ACCEPT THE RISKS DISCLOSED OR THE RESPONSIBILITIES IMPOSED ON A VISITOR TO A WORKING FARM, PLEASE ADVISE FARM PERSONNEL AND RETURN ANY TICKET(S) INTACT AND UNUSED.  YOU WILL BE ISSUED A REFUND FOR THE AMOUNT PAID FOR THE TICKET(S) WHEN FIRST ISSUED.

WARNING TO VISITORS

You are entering a farm property where farm activities are being conducted.  We shall not be liable for an injury to or death of visitors resulting from the inherent risks on farm property.

 

INHERENT RISKS

 

·         Equipment is dangerous and not for visitor use

·         Uneven ground, loose rocks, slippery conditions (mud, ice), falling icicles

·         Sun exposure and variable weather conditions

·         Private water and septic systems

·         Open water (no lifeguard, danger of thin ice)

·         Unmaintained meadows, trees, and trails

·         Falling rocks, branches, trees, nuts, acorns, etc.

·         Ticks, stinging/biting insects, poison ivy, thorny plants, and other wildlife

·         Loud noises, odors, and chemicals from nearby agricultural activities

·         Fire in grills / firepits and related smoke


 

VISITOR RESPONSIBILITIES

-          Stay within winery and parking lot boundaries unless authorized by Farm Management

-          Persons under 18 must be accompanied by an adult on Farm Property.

-          No pets without permission!

-          No littering!

-          No hunting, fishing, or trapping

-          No weapons

-          Respect our neighbors, no trespassing

-          Wear appropriate attire, including footwear

-          Do not feed wildlife or farm animals

-          Do not eat wild plants or mushrooms

-          Do not start fire unless given permission by farm personnel

-          Do not use grills or firepits without fire extinguisher nearby

-          Extinguish fire completely before leaving unattended

-          Stay away from farming equipment

-          Stay away from electrical, propane, winemaking, and other equipment

-          No climbing (rocks, equipment, trees, etc.)

-          Overnight guests refer to rules in booking details
